BudgetFLEX™ is designed to be straightforward to use. Below is an accurate summary of the accessibility features currently built into the app, known limitations, and how to reach us for help.
Theme support
BudgetFLEX™ follows your macOS system appearance by default — if your Mac is set to Dark Mode, the app opens in dark; Light Mode opens in light. You can override this at any time in Settings → Appearance, where Dark and Light are available as explicit options.
Font size
Three text sizes are available in Settings → Appearance: Small, Medium, and Large. The selection scales text and UI elements throughout the app.
Keyboard access
Standard keyboard navigation works throughout the app. Tab and Shift+Tab move between form fields; Enter confirms actions. All data entry can be completed without a mouse.
Data tables
Transactions, accounts, and reports are rendered as standard HTML tables, which are readable by screen readers at a basic level.
Known limitations
We disclose what is not yet supported so you can plan accordingly:
- Full VoiceOver and screen reader optimization (ARIA labels, live regions, chart text alternatives) is planned for a future release. Basic table reading works, but custom UI components are not fully annotated.
- Keyboard shortcuts for common actions (new transaction, search, etc.) are not yet implemented.
- A high-contrast theme option is on the roadmap.
- Right-to-left (RTL) language layouts are not supported.
